The 2025 mint of the American Silver Buffalo coin Contains  .999 fine silver. The obverse includes the Native American chieftain. with an American bison on the reverse.  American Silver Buffalo coins were introduced by the United States Mint in 2006 and marked a momentous occasion. Description

The U.S. Mint began producing this coin in 2006 as a direct competitor to the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf and other pure silver coins. It also offers purity-conscious investors an alternative to the popular American Silver Eagle coin. Buffalo coins are struck in 0.999 pure silver. while Eagle coins are struck in 0.9167 pure silver. While both coins contain one ounce of silver. the American Buffalo Silver is slightly smaller in size because it contains no alloying metals. meaning it contains neither silver nor copper.
